Data acquisition from 30 weather stations on a train route of approx. 500 km. Measurement data such as temperature, wind speed and direction, are received and monitored by MCPS8 in the control centre. Further measurement data from 30 PLC’s are also monitored and evaluated. In MCPS, a customised representation of the weather stations was created in the process monitoring tool. Here, the current wind directions are displayed by wind roses. Furthermore, the temperature and wind speed are also displayed under the respective wind rose. If limit values are exceeded or not reached, an alarm signal is emitted. In this case, the train driver is informed immediately in order to take the necessary measures.
